Putting on a show...

New wings for Mom!

Well our last houseguest left this morning and Page and I are furiously getting ready for our move next week. I was winged on Friday Jan 15th and I start class up in Norfolk on Feb 8th. The movers arrive on Monday and Page and I head out on Thursday to spend the weekend with Daddy before heading up north.

Page had a blast at the winging festivities, but that whole not sitting still thing is not exactly conducive to military ceremonies. We were all dressed in our finest and Paul and I pretty much played tag, taking turns chasing her around the auditorium and reception hall. Paul and Page pinned on my wings, or rather Paul pinned them on and Page repeatedly pulled them off! Two very full days with no naps, but she recovered well. Her resilience will continue to be tested in the coming weeks as we prepare to move. And her skills interacting with other kids will certainly be honed as she'll be spending lots of quality time with her cousins in VA!

Grandma and Papa Joe and Aunt Caitlin were here all week and although Cait promised to update the blog daily, she quickly realized that chasing around a one year old all day leaves little energy for anything else. Either that or the fact that Joe had the fine boxed chardonnay flowing very freely every night leaves the blogging up to me once again. Enjoy the pictures!

One more set of pictures...

I'm not a big fan of studio photo shoots, but after getting some adorable "school photos" from Page's daycare in Hawaii last year, I decided I would take her once a year in the fall until she starts getting actual school pictures. These were taken at sears in late September. They wanted to charge something ridiculous like $30 per page to photoshop out the rather large boo boo she had in the middle of her forehead, so I did it myself at home, but never got around to printing these out for everyone as I had intended. So, here they are.

Happy New Year!

November-December 2009

Well, I finally have a chance to catch my breath and catch up on the pictures. It has been a busy few months for the Minihans (as I'm sure it has been for everyone else as well). We had Jennifer and Trevor and the girls here in Milton for Thanksgiving, Page and I went to Beaufort for Christmas and New Years and we had a visit from Brian and Andrea and their girls while we were there.

Page, as you can see from the pictures, is as busy as ever. She can't sit still for a moment. She wasn't particularly interested in opening her Christmas presents and the best one was easily an enormous box that Nana sent her gifts in and Paul made into a tunnel! Now that we're home though (and the huge cardboard box was left behind in Dad's trash), she is loving all of her new toys.

Page's older cousins (Deirdre, Shannon, Kaitlyn, and Meghan) were all very cute with her and liked to help take care of her. Now, Allison, who is 8 months older than Page, apparently left from her visit continually saying she "had fun with Page." She must have some selective memory, because if my memory serves me correct, my child wasn't exactly the best of playmates. Any toy that Allison had, Page tried to take from her. And if she wasn't playing with a toy, Page would just casually walk up to her and pull her shirt or something. A little bit of a bully! Boy am I glad that a two year old's memory fades fast.

In the near future, Page and I will be moving to an as yet undetermined location. I finished up flight school this past week and we find out next week where the Navy is sending me next. I will keep everyone posted. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2010!
